Do I have to create an account to rent equipment?
Yes. All clients must create a Tarf Media account to access our Equipment Rental Portal and book equipment. This helps us verify your identity, manage bookings efficiently, and provide a self-service experience for repeat hires.
What documents do I need to rent equipment?
You'll need a valid National ID or Passport for verification. Corporate clients may also be required to submit a company authorisation letter.
Can I rent equipment without hiring your crew?
Yes. You can rent equipment for self-use as long as you meet our verification and payment requirements. However, for specialised equipment such as drones, we recommend hiring our licensed operators for optimal performance and safety compliance.
Can I view the equipment before booking?
Yes. You can schedule an appointment to visit us in Nairobi to inspect and test equipment before confirming your booking. Contact us to arrange a visit.
Is there a security deposit?
Yes. Some equipment may require a refundable security deposit depending on the type and value of the item. The amount will be communicated during the booking process and refunded upon safe return of the equipment.
What happens if equipment is damaged or lost during my rental period?

Do you deliver and collect equipment?

Booking & Payment
How do I make a booking?
Log in to your Tarf Media account, browse the available equipment, select the items you need, and submit your booking. Our team will review your request and issue an invoice for payment. For production services, simply get in touch to begin.
What payment options do you accept?
We accept M-Pesa and bank transfers. Payment must be made in full before collecting or using any equipment. A 50% deposit is required to secure a production services booking.
Can I cancel or reschedule my booking?
Yes. Cancellations made more than 24 hours before the scheduled rental date will not attract a penalty. Late cancellations may incur up to 50% of the rental fee. Please notify us as early as possible if you need to reschedule.
What happens if I return equipment late?
Late returns attract additional charges per hour or per day, depending on the item. We advise notifying us early if you expect a delay to avoid unnecessary penalties.
Can I rent equipment for a long-term project?
Yes. We offer daily, weekly, and monthly rental options for long-term projects. Contact us for customised packages and long-term pricing.
