You are required to create a Tarf Media account and verify your identity. Once your account is approved, log in to browse & select equipment, then submit your booking request. You will receive an invoice, make payment, and collect the equipment or request delivery. After use, return the equipment as agreed.

Do I have to create an account to rent equipment?

Yes. All clients must create an account to access our Equipment Rental Portal and book equipment. This helps us verify your identity, manage bookings efficiently, and provide a self-service experience for repeat hires.

What documents do I need to rent equipment?

You’ll need a valid National ID or Passport for verification. Corporate clients may also be required to submit a company authorization letter.

Can I rent equipment without hiring your crew?

Yes. You can rent equipment for self-use as long as you meet our verification and payment requirements. However, for specialized equipment like drones, we recommend hiring our licensed operators for optimal performance and safety compliance.

How do I make a booking?

Simply log in to your Tarf Media account, browse the available equipment, select the items you need, and submit your booking. Our team will review your request and issue an invoice for payment.

What payment options do you accept?

We accept M-Pesa and bank transfers. Payment must be made in full before collecting or using any equipment.

Is there a security deposit?

Yes. Some equipment may require a refundable security deposit depending on the type and value of the item. The amount will be communicated during the booking process and refunded upon safe return of the equipment.

Can I cancel or reschedule my booking?

Yes, you can. Cancellations made more than 24 hours before the scheduled rental date will not attract a penalty. Late cancellations may incur up to 50% of the rental fee.

What happens if I return the equipment late?

Late returns attract additional charges per hour or per day, depending on the item. We advise notifying us early if you expect a delay to avoid penalties.

What if equipment is damaged or lost during my rental period?

You’ll be responsible for the repair or replacement cost based on the current market value. We recommend ensuring that the equipment is handled carefully and used only by qualified personnel.

Can I extend my rental period?

Yes. You can request an extension through your account before the current rental period expires. Approval will depend on equipment availability.

Do you deliver and collect equipment?

Yes, we offer delivery and pickup services within Nairobi and its surroundings at an additional cost. Arrangements can be made during booking.

What happens after I submit my rental request?

Our team reviews your request, verifies your information, and issues an invoice. Once payment and ID verification are complete, you’ll receive a confirmation for pickup or delivery.

Do you offer crew along with the equipment?

Yes. You can hire our professional crew (camera operators, licensed drone pilots, lighting technicians, sound engineers, etc.) along with the equipment for seamless production support.

Can I rent equipment for a long-term project?

Yes. We offer daily, weekly, and monthly rental options for long-term projects. Contact us for customized packages.

What happens to my personal data and ID copy?

Your personal data and ID are securely stored and used only for verification purposes in compliance with Kenya’s Data Protection Act. We do not share your information with third parties without consent.

What type of equipment can I hire from Tarf Media?
